Last year I read a whitepaper about how webinars generate better ROI than in-person events. The paper was sponsored by GoToWebinar so I take it with a grain of salt, but the research is pretty interesting. The paper, written by Quantum Leap Marketing and Osterman Research, suggest that small and medium-sized businesses are generating more qualified leads and reaching a larger audience by hosting online events for marketing purposes.
Webinar services are reasonably low cost (or free if you get creative with chat or Google Hangouts), and the only investment is the time it takes to create the presentation and deliver it. No booth rental fees for trade shows, no printing costs for collateral.
You can download the whitepaper here.
