What makes Nordstrom different? Nordstrom is a leading fashion specialty retailer, offering customers one of the most extensive selections of clothing, shoes and accessories for men, women and children. This one sentence from their site won’t tell everything about them. They are different because of great services offering to customers like cafĂ© and grill, Nordstrom rack, benefits to cardholders (rewards points, complimentary alteration, anniversary sale early access and private holiday shopping party). Most of all, Facebook is one of their great services.
They are interacting well with fans on Facebook. They respond to as many questions as they can. When people are taking time to stop by the page and leave a comment or upload a picture, they also take time to comment back. It makes the people feel good and keep coming back. They keep the fans active by seeding questions to generate thoughts and encourage them to interact with each other through some activities like ‘cast your vote’.( e.g. ‘your favorite gift on Valentine's Day wish list and then share your pick with your friends.’)
It’s helpful to their Facebook fans. ‘Beauty central’ offers information of the latest and greatest in skincare, cosmetics and fragrance, including beauty trends and resources available only to Facebook fans. It’s like reading a beauty magazine with people’s comments. This week’s personal stylist tip series (stylist managers share their picks for each theme) in ‘Photos’ is also informative. It’s interesting to see photos of New York Fashion Week’s street looks and watch interviews of people related to fashion business like Betsey Johnson and Michael Kors. As a heavy reader and viewer of fashion magazines and fashion channels, I can say Nordstrom Facebook is fun and useful.
