I recently read an article on CNN that was pretty timely with what we've been learning about research and digital marketing. Right now, marketers gather information about consumers from the websites they visit, searches they perform, pages they like on Facebook, etc. But there are some startups that are suggesting we keep that information a little closer to the chest and become the owners of our own data. We would then have the option of what was shared with retailers based on the information we want to receive in return.
