What is the new normal for marketing your business today? Google+ vs. Facebook.

Just this week I came across yet another social media platform which is supposedly deemed to be a little different than what we all are familiar with right now. Apparently, there is this so-called Google+ which is yet another version of a social networking website that is designed to be able to help you market your business better. At first, I thought how different could this be from Facebook until I came across this article that sighted some real interesting thoughts on how this can help a business be more engaging with their audience. The article laid out 12 ways on how Google+ can help promote and market your business. But of all those tips the one that really stood out for me is #8 Get to know your audience on Google+. When considering your content for the Google+ platform, remember that although there may be some overlap with other social media, this is a new and different platform and potentially an entirely new and different audience. I thought that was a really compelling statement because it is true. This may or may not be the same as the Facebook but it could definitely bring in a totally different set of untapped resources for anyone’s business.

In our time today, it is apparent that companies and businesses alike have to be able to keep up and create several marketing strategies to attract their corresponding audiences. There are so many available channels as well as new and far more creative ways out there to grab the people’s attention and get them to listen about you. With the emergence of several social media platforms, there is no denying that internet and/or email marketing has then become part of the new norm when it comes to reaching out to your audience whether they are new or repeating customers. Truly, the competition has become more cut-throat but with all the resources we have available to us it is up to them how to take advantage of it, use it effectively while at the same time don’t overdo it.
