Crafty Brewers

About 7 years ago three of my friends decided they would take their passion for brewing hoppy beer to the next level. Their understanding of zymology, mechanical aptitude and quest for the perfect brew kept them working weekends and late nights. Their home brewing system quickly outgrew their kitchen, and they graduated to an activespace unit to craft their elixir. After a few years on the small half barrel system they built a 10 barrel system and really started brewing. In 2010 just a year after they built the 10 barrel system they built an even better, and more efficient system, and adjoining tasting room. Today  their beer is distributed at every establishment listed below, including their own tasting room. (and the keg-o-rator in my garage) One of the things that I believe helped propel the Schooner Exact Brewing Company along was their early adoption of social media to keep their friends apprised of their progress.

Schooner Exact started posting their progress nearly from the beginning. Heather would post PR hits they’d received, progress with distribution and announce new beers as they were released. This commitment to keeping friends and family in the loop led to creating an ongoing word of mouth campaign that I believe was instrumental in their success. Today Schooner exact continues to evolve their website, but actively uses facebook and twitter to spread the word about events at their tasting room, new beers coming online and announcing new establishments that pick up their beer. I believe that their adoption of social media tools has enabled them to scale their marketing efforts affordably as their business has grown.
