As a new United State's resident and married to a "beer lover", the first local business that came up in my mind was "Mac & Jack's Brewing Company", located in Redmond and the 39th largest craft brewery in the country (by volume sold).
Surprisingly, after some research on web I was shocked: they are not using Facebook and Twitter as a channel to maintain contact with their consumer!! On Yelp "Mac & Jack's" has 45 reviews, and these reviews are really positive (yelp.com/mac-and-jacks-brewery). Good sign, isn't it? However, the most amazing "good review" is on Facebook: a "Mac & Jack's" lover, who doesn't work for this company, created a page to interact with another people that love the company too. The page has 6.255 likes!!! (facebook.com/Mac-and-Jacks-Brewery) It is a strong sign that these Facebook users want to talk to this brand, and it's time to start a real interaction!
The consumer has important things to say and probably want to hear from "Mac & Jack's". Not only is extremely important hearing opinions, suggestions, criticism, compliments and needs, but also, it's important to have a conversation. I believe tools like Twitter and Facebook could be a great start point to using social media to its fullest advantage.
